Pork Steaks - Tandoori Style with Taziki (Cucumber Salad)


Ingredients:
½ k. pork steaks, sliced into ½"-pieces
½ cup yogurt
2 tbsps. lemon juice
1 tsp. worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. black pepper, ground
1 tbsp. garlic, minced
2 tbsps. olive oil
2 tsps. salt
½ tsp. paprika
½ tsp. chili powder
2 tbsps. olive oil

For the taziki:
2 pcs. cucumbers, sliced paper thin
1 tbsp. salt
3/4 cup yogurt
1 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
1 tbsp garlic, freshly minced
½ tsp. cayenne pepper
½ tsp. paprika powder
pinch of salt
pinch of ground black pepper

Directions:

To prepare the taziki:
In a bowl; rub cucumber with salt. Let stand for 5 to 10 minutes or until water weeps out of the cucumber. Squeeze out excess moisture from the cucumber slices and transfer to a bow. Discard juices. Add yogurt, lemon juice, garlic, cayenne pepper, paprika, salt and pepper. mix well with the cucumber. Chill until ready to serve with pork steaks.

To prepare the pork steaks:
Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Marinate for at least 30 minutes. Pan-grill Monterey pork steaks for about 5 minutes per side or until cooked through. Makes 4 servings.
